This dead tree - burned in one of the major San Diego County wildfires several years ago - has been appropriately named "The Reaper" by a fellow photographer. The curved branch at the top and to the right resembles a sickle, doesn't it? And the dark, burnt, and dead nature of this tree adds to the deathliness mood here.
As you can see, I managed to capture a meteor as well as the Milky Way. I'm thinking this is either a Virginid or (more likely) April Piscid meteor, but I'm not 100% sure.
I shot this last night (4/20/2018) in Mount Laguna. Instead of using my 15mm lens as is the case for 99% of my nighttime shots, I decided to shoot with my Canon 50mm for a change. Shot with a Canon 6D and Canon 50mm lens at 10 sec f/2.8 ISO 6400.
This shot is a single frame from a timelapse sequence I shot here for about 90 minutes. It was quite cold up here - I'm guessing the temperature was in the mid to upper 30° F range as a bottle of water I brought with me felt much colder than one fresh out of the refrigerator.
