Nice colorful rainbow and ominous clouds over Borrego Springs, California. Shot from a turnoff on the Montezuma Grade on Monday. Originally I wasn't going to head out here due to there being 20 MPH and higher winds in the forecast. Later in the morning, Kamala Venkatesh messaged me and asked if I was interested in going. I then figured I had nothing to lose but possibly time since I had no real estate shoots due to the rain in most of the county (except for the desert) and decided to head out. When we got to Anza-Borrego, the wind was mostly mild and even calm at times. And no rain either. Also, there were some nice ominous clouds in the sky. It was a perfect day for photography.
I believe the white flowers here are Desert lily (Hesperocallis undulata), yellow are desert sunflower (Geraea canescens), slender purple flowers in back are Arizona Lupine (Lupinus arizonicus), and the round purple flowers in the foreground are Desert sand verbena (Abronia villosa). I shot this along Highway S-22 aka. Borrego Salton Seaway in Borrego Springs in the Anza-Borrego Desert. Instead of my usual wide-angle shots, I've decided to experiment with close-ups and selective focusing as well.
