Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. I combined 52 frames using StarStaX to produce this image. Each frame was shot at 30" f/8 ISO 2000. Due to a nearly full moon, I was only able to capture the brighter stars - this resulted in much less intense trails than seen in my other shots.
Sculptures in Galleta Meadows Estates in Borrego Springs. I combined 75 images shot at 25" f/2.8 ISO 3200 to make this composite. The late Dennis Avery (son of the founder of Avery labels), land owner of Galleta Meadows Estates in Borrego Springs envisioned the idea of adding 'free standing art' to his property with original steel welded sculptures created by 'Perris Jurassic Park' owner/artist/welder Ricardo Breceda based in Perris, California. These sculptures are on private property, but the property owner encourages the public to visit and take photos, picnic, hike, etc. Camping on the property is no longer permitted, but you can still open camp nearby in Anza-Borrego Desert State Park.
I had to wait until after 2:00 am for the Milky Way to rise far enough above the horizon to get a good shot of it.
