The Milky Way rises above a field of purple wildflowers in Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. It's quite rare for wildflowers to grow in the badlands as seen here. I believe these flowers are notch leaf phacelia (Phacelia crenulata ambigua).
This is a single exposure that I shot at 4:55 AM. The light from the rising sun was just enough to light up the landscape while not being so bright as to wash on the Milky Way.
Shot with a Canon 6D and Sigma 15mm at 25 sec f/2.8 ISO 5000.
